Beetje geschiedenis over het dorp dat tegenwoordig hoort bij de stad Alkmaar, Oudorp.
1 januari 2010 heeft Oudorp 12.439 inwoners.
- Oudorp is al een oude plaats, in de 11e eeuw komt de plaats voor als Aldenthorf, wat ook verwijst naar de huidige betekenis: een "oud dorp". Some history about the village that now belongs to the city of Alkmaar, Oudorp. There are - on 1 January 2010 - 12,439 inhabitants in Oudorp. That is a lot, for what once was a very small village.
- Oudorp is an old place. In the 11th century the place was called Aldenthorf, which also refers to the current meaning: an "old town".

Sinds jaren zien we in 'Summit kunst op straat'. Eerst een beeld bij het station, daarna verschillende objecten aan Wilson Park, op de hoek van Springfield Ave en Oakley Ave. De glaskunst in de bushuisjes is niet alleen prachtig, het is ook permanent. Andere beelden staan er voor een bepaalde periode en gaan door naar een andere plek in Summit, of naar een andere stad.
The City of Summit established the Mayor’s Partnership for Public Art in 2002. Its mission is to bring art — mainly contemporary sculpture — to public spaces in the city. The Mayor's Partnership for Public Art is often known simply as Public Art/Summit. It has placed sculpture at various public locations around Summit since 2004. Most works remain in place for about six months.
